We are proud to provide high-quality dental care for children and adults, including exams, X-rays, cleanings, sealants, fluoride therapy, varnish applications, restorative fillings, root canals, extractions and referrals for specialty care as needed, including for partial and complete dentures.

Urgent Dental Care

Urgent, same-day appointments are available on a walk-in basis at our main clinic in Missoula and are reserved for emergency extractions and for patients experiencing a lot of pain.  Sign up for same-day urgent care dental appointments begins at the following times:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:15 a.m.

Tuesday: 9:00 a.m.

Appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.  If we have more patients than appointments, we will add people to a short call list and work them in on cancellations throughout the day.

Filling Out Forms in Advance

Patients are welcome to fill out their forms before coming to the clinic. It can be helpful to review these forms prior to traveling to our clinic. If you do not fill them out before, we will be happy to provide you with these forms when you arrive at PHC Dental.

Urgent Dental Care Locations

Urgent dental care appointments are primarily available in our main Missoula clinic, The Creamery Building, at 401 Railroad St. W.

Very limited urgent dental appointments are available in Seeley Lake at our Seeley-Swan Medical Center. Appointments in Seeley Lake are scheduled by phone.

Note: You do not have to be an established dental patient in order to be eligible for an emergency appointment.

Payment & Financial Assistance

We are dedicated to providing low-cost dental services. Sliding Fee discounts, which adjust cost based on income, are available to all patients.

A Message from PHC Dental

Please note that due to a regional shortage of dentists, PHC currently has a very limited amount of available appointments, both for urgent and non-urgent dental needs. We are working hard to serve as many patients as we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Tips for Practicing Good Hygiene to Lessen Dental Disease
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. Scrub for at least 20 seconds or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap is not available.
  • Don’t touch your face.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with the inside of your elbow or upper arm when a tissue is not available.
  • Stay home if you are feeling sick, and seek appropriate medical guidance.
What to do if You Have Tooth or Mouth Pain

*Calling your dentist and asking for guidance before going to the emergency room is an important step to reduce the burden on busy Emergency Room teams and help get you the care you need.

When to Know if Urgent Treatment May be Needed
  • Swollen gums, face, or neck
  • Bleeding in your mouth that does not stop
  • Infection or a substantial risk of infection
  • Recent trauma to the mouth

How Our Dental Care Manager Can Help Navigate Complex Cases
  • When possible, we may attempt a teledent appointment with a PHC Dentist to triage your case to see exactly what may be needed and how we can help. *Limitations may apply
  • Next steps may include scheduling an appointment or referring to an outside specialist or primary care provider.
